Welcome to the Heap
Why We’re Starting with Scraps
Here’s the thing: we don’t need more perfect routines, pristine kitchens, or glossy Instagram pantries. We need more people willing to roll up their sleeves, burn the toast, try again, and laugh about it.
Hot Compost was born out of that spirit. The messy middle. The pile of carrot peels. The forgotten sourdough starter. The desire to live a little closer to the ground, even if you don’t own a single houseplant or can’t tell basil from mint.
This space is for that in-between.
The one where you want to slow down, cook better food, save money, grow a little of your own, and waste a little less.
Where you learn by doing. Where skills are handed down (or Googled at 11pm). Where compost smells like growth—figuratively and literally.

This isn’t about becoming a homesteader overnight.
It’s about remembering we already have what we need—sometimes in the back of the fridge, sometimes at the bottom of the garden bin.
So whether you're starting with a countertop compost bucket or a craving to know how to make ricotta from scratch...
You're in the right place.
